Mike Teeter

Owner and Managing Partner

Mike has more than eighteen years of experience as a business professional and owner. Having overseen hundreds of transactions, he is an industry leader. As he has personally developed, syndicated, and disposed of multiple investment assets, Mike brings a unique perspective to business owners. Clients have come to appreciate his sound advice when it comes to his market knowledge, strategic insight and personal experience.

Mike has been an investment transaction expert since 1998, with a focus on Mergers and Acquisitions and Real Estate Development. He is an accomplished professional with technical experience in acquisitions, divestitures, investment analysis, analytics, capital raise, and development.

As Owner and Managing Partner, he is responsible for the day to day operations of Invictus, transaction oversight, business development, deal-sourcing, negotiations, and providing support for its associates.

A West Michigan native, Mike brings the values, tenacity, dedication, and hard work to the Invictus team. These are principles he no doubt cultivated while playing under legendary coach Bo Schembechler at the University of Michigan and then playing in the National Football League.

It is through his experience as a college/professional athlete and coach that Mike understands the importance of creating a TEAM of high character individuals that will represent clients with the highest standards and integrity.

Mike holds a B.S. from the University of Michigan and is a Licensed Broker in the State of Michigan. He and his wife Kim have three children and reside in West Michigan. Mike donates his time as the strength and conditioning coach for Western Michigan Christian boys and girls soccer program, as well as serving as a mentor for a number of young men and women in his community.

 

 

Steve Paul

Managing Director

Steve attended Muskegon Business College, majoring in Business Administration. After college, he joined the family business, Paul Bros. Blueberries, Inc. He first managed the operation, and later became Vice President. Over the years, Steve also became a partner and managing member of Paul-Nelson Blueberries LLC, a certified organic farm, Mt. Garfield Blueberries LLC, and owner of Blue Harvest, Inc. All of Steve’s farming operations were members of MBG Marketing, where Steve served for eight years on the Board of Directors.

Steve sold all of his blueberry operations June 1, 2016. For the next year, Steve was employed at First Pick Farms, a 2,500 acre blueberry operation, as Director of Blueberry Operations. He is also employed as a crop advisor at Reister’s Grower Services in Kent City, Michigan. Steve has served as Secretary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3666 since 2010. He and his wife Theresa reside in Fruitport and have two daughters.

With more than twenty-five years of financial and business advisory experience, Steve brings a high level of experience, professionalism, and competency to the mergers and acquisitions industry. He has been active in facilitating and integrating mergers and acquisitions and has completed transactions with both domestic and internationally based companies.

Prior to joining Invictus, Steve was involved in the wholesale, distribution, and manufacturing industries. During his fourteen-year career with Gordon Food Service, Inc., the largest privately held foodservice distributor in North America, he held various financial positions including serving as Chief Financial Officer. In the course of his tenure at GFS, he facilitated the acquisition and integration of six companies, directed the hundred-person finance/accounting team, and was responsible for all aspects of the financial operations and reporting.

Prior to his career at GFS, Steve spent seven years as an auditor and financial consultant with the international public accounting firms of KPMG and BDO Seidman. Steve is a Certified Public Accountant and member of the Association for Corporate Growth.

Steve serves on the board of two non-profit organizations and has guest-lectured at Grand Valley State University and several industry associations.

In addition, Steve is an avid runner. He and his wife, Diane, reside in Jenison, Michigan. They enjoy traveling, soccer, and other activities with their five children.
